Being Exceptional is back at Stamford Plaza Auckland

Since re-opening its doors on 10th June, Stamford Plaza, Auckland has been back to being exceptional in every sense of welcoming guests back.

From being a managed isolation facility (MIF) for almost two years, the hotel began commercial operations again with a thorough clean of the hotel, rooms and public areas and restoring the hotel to its previous glory. The hotel through its MIF managed to retain key staff while attracting and training new staff to ensure guest satisfaction is foremost in every sense.

Stamford Plaza is one of the most renowned 5-star hotels in Auckland CBD. It’s a five-minute walk from the Auckland waterfront and Commercial Bay including the shopping precinct of Queen Street. Featuring 286 rooms, Stamford Plaza offers some of the largest guest rooms in the city with its Superior rooms staring at 36 Sq mts with Executive Suites at 66 Sq mts. The hotel’s signature suite, The Governors two-bedroom suite is 134 Sq mts.

The hotel houses one of Auckland’s most famous Japanese Teppanyaki restaurant ‘Kabuki’ where guests can enjoy sumptuous Japanese cuisine with a bit of flair and theatrics created by an experienced Japanese chef.

For meetings and conferences, Stamford Plaza houses The Stamford Ballroom and various sized conference facilities to cater for any event size. The hotel offers an eclectic mix of dining options and multi-cultural cuisines to suit whether it be a canapes style evening of a gala black-tie event.

Overseeing the brilliant operations at Stamford Plaza is General Manager Saif Ian Rashid, a 20-year hotel veteran with experience across leading 5-star luxury hotel brands.

Saif brings wealth of experience to the hotel and is focused in delivering the brand-values of the hotel group as travel rebounds back. In an exclusive chat with NZ Business Traveller, Saif said, “We pride ourselves in delivering exceptional guest services that is true to our brand and that’s what our guests love the most about us and return”.

We have all the facilities back up and running from the indoor heated pools to the gym and our speciality restaurants. Supporting Saif in sales and marketing is Vikas Yadav who has been with the hotel since January. Vikas said the focus is now steady at welcome business travellers back to the hotel offering them a full suite of services. “Our conferences and meeting facilities are back up and running and we have the flexibility of offering any size event and the catering options to match. We are now prepared to welcome both local and international events back to the hotel and deliver the best possible experience”, said Vikas.

Stamford Plaza, Auckland also subscribes to the ‘Stamford Safe’ program powered by Rest Assured Safety Program that aims to reduce risk and ensure a safe environment for all guests and staff.
